Scotia BioChar Inc will soon become a producer of high-quality biochar from waste wood biomass in central Novas Scotia and the nearby 20 million tonnes of trees blown down from Hurricane Fiona. The proven technology will generate 8,500 tonnes per year of and up to 2,100 tonnes of wood vinegar. Its initial level of CO2 credit is 2.52 per tonne of biochar and is focused on measures to strengthen to a targeted 3 credits. Advance efforts focused on the applications for agriculture crops and livestock; asphalt and concrete; PFASs (contaminated site remediation); Wastewater and water treatment; and, as a renewable substitute for graphite.
